We are a full-spectrum university with five faculties, including the large university hospital.

Our 39,000 students study in the entire spectrum of modern academic disciplines,

from humanities, social sciences and theology, to medicine, law, economics, sciences and engineering.

We offer more than 260 degree programs, more and more of them taught exclusively in English,

have more than 600 professorships and more than 3,000 academic staff members.

The university has developed eight interdisciplinary key research priorities

that allow researchers to consolidate their expertise, exchange ideas and form strong research synergies.

Each FAU key research priority connects intensive research, academic excellence,

international networks and funding secured for a wide range of projects.

At least two faculties and 25 professors are involved in each FAU key research priority.

FAU also performs exceptionally well in terms of third-party funding.

We secure around 200 million euros every year for implementing groundbreaking research projects.
